Top 5 Quarterback/Wide Receiver Stacks For Week 2

After reading, scroll back up to enter these stacks into your Fanduel and Draft Kings lineups!

With Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season in the books, hopefully you all have a little more cash in your pocket from playing Fanduel or Draft Kings.  If you read this column last week, you would have discovered that my favorite QB/WR stack for week 1 was Carson Palmer and John Brown.  Both were value plays (Palmer wasn’t even priced in the top 15 at QB) and if you took my advice, you would have had a great return on your investment as Palmer threw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, one of those going to Brown.  In a majority of tournaments I played in last week, Palmer was the QB on a number of the top 10 finishers.  The premise of this weekly article is to find an undervalued QB and WR from the same team who I believe will return a great score, won’t kill your budget, and won’t be played by a high percentage of Fanduel or Draft Kings participants, making them targets for GPP contests.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (DK $7,200 FD $8,400)/WR Antonio Brown (DK $8,800 FD $9,200) vs. San Francisco

The Steelers had trouble moving the ball against the Patriots in week 1, but Roethlisberger still had a decent game and Brown still had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. The Steelers have a few extra days to rest and prepare for the 49ers who have a lot to prove defensively, even after a good first game against the Vikings. People may be scared off by the reputation of the 49ers defense, but its not the same team we’ve seen over the last few years.  Expect a good game from Roethlisberger and Brown.

4. Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (DK $6,900 FD $7,500)/WR Jordan Matthews (DK $7,100 FD $7,000) vs. Dallas

Coming off a 336 yard 1 touchdown game on a whopping 52 pass attempts, Bradford gets another favorable match up at home against Dallas.  In what could be another high scoring affair, Bradford will heavily target Jordan Matthews who hauled in 10 receptions with 102 yards and narrowly missed a touchdown, which could have made both of their stat lines even more impressive.  I think Bradford becomes a fan favorite in his first regular season home game in Philly.

3. Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (DK $7,400 FD $8,700)/WR Julio Jones (DK $8,900 FD $8,800) vs. New York Giants

In game 1, Matt Ryan fell 2 yards shy of 300 yards and threw both of his touchdowns to Julio Jones, who also caught 9 balls for 141 yards. You got to love it when your QB throws multiple touchdowns to your receiver. The Giants defense is porous, which should mean another monster game for Ryan and Jones, even though they play on the road this week.  Atlanta’s impressive commitment to the running game should help take pressure off the passing game, preventing New York from focusing all of their attention on Ryan and Jones.

2. Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (DK $6,700 FD $7,800)/WR John Brown (DK $5,100 FD $6,200) vs. Chicago

My favorite Quarterback/Wide Receiver Stack of week 1 are back in the #2 spot for week 2.  Larry Fitzgerald led the Cardinals in targets with 8, but John Brown had 7.  Brown also has more big play ability at this point than Fitzgerald, which is why I prefer to stack Brown with Palmer.  The Cardinals love to pass, the Bears have a mediocre defense, and with Andre Ellington potentially out, Palmer will be throwing a lot.  You may want to stack Brown and Fitzgerald with Palmer, as both receivers are priced similarly and provide good values.

1. New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (DK $7,800 FD $8,900)/WR Brandin Cooks (DK $7,000 FD $7,400) vs. Tampa Bay

We all saw what rookie Marcus Mariota did to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 1.  What do you think the grizzled veteran Drew Brees can do to the Bucs in the Saints home opener?  Brees and Cooks might not be very under the radar plays this week, but I think the Saints will blow out the Buccaneers, and the price is reasonable enough that you will be left with flexibility to fill out your lineup with quality players.  Good luck this week. Stack up, cash up!
